HARKE Pharma Seminar Istanbul 2009 - Review
On Tuesday, May 5, 2009, the 5th HARKE Pharma Seminar took place at the inspiring location of the industrial heritage museum “Santral Istanbul” in Eyüp, Istanbul. Almost sixty participants coming from the most important pharmaceutical companies in Turkey joined this event that now becomes an important venue and discussion-point for researchers of the pharmaceutical industry.
This time the discussion was focused on:
- new excipients for tabletting;
- excipients for solid dispersions.
Much to our regret Professor Levent Öner from the University of Hacettepe, one of the speakers, could not join the meeting due to family reasons.
Instead of Professor Öner’s presentations two new topics were introduced:
- L-HPC, novel applications;
- Cellets®, pellets made of microcrystalline cellulose.
Another main topic was the impact of the “Design Space Concept” from ICH Q8 on the practical work with cellulosic excipients.
The Seminar was concluded with a part dedicated to “questioning & answering” and with the best regards from HARKE Pharma to the Pharmaceutical Industry in Turkey for a continuous growth.

The waiting will be over on March 25, 2009. In Budapest we are going to present you the 5 th interdisciplinary workshop for the pharmaceutical industry. HARKE Pharma lectures at TFH (University of Applied Sciences) in Berlin
The University of Applied Sciences in Berlin (TFH) more precisely the association for food technology and packaging technique (GLV e.V.) invites the interested public to the 1st Symposium for product design in pharmaceutical and food technology. The department pharmaceutical and chemical engineering will concentrate on coating processes in the pharmaceutical industry on January 22nd, 2009. On January 23rd, 2009, the faculty for food technology and packaging technique will explore the issue “nantechnology in food industry”. The conference takes place at the University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, opening hours from 9 to 16:30.
In the scope of the workshop “Coating Processes in the Pharmaceutical Industry – Coatings for Tablets, Globulis and Pellets” Dipl. Ing. Ulrich Müller, Technical Sales Manager Syntapharm / HARKE Pharma, will give a lecture on the topic “Excipients for Tablet Coating”. “Technology transfer and especially the exchange and cooperation with universities is of central importance for us”, says Müller and adds: “We are pleased to pass on our know-how in this segment.”
His lecture starts at 11.50 hrs – following the participants will have the chance to ask questions during a discussion.

Pharmtech 2008 Moscow
For the forth time this year Syntapharm / HARKE Pharma travels to Moscow for the Pharmtech Exhibition, the most important event of the pharmaceutical industry in Russia .
More than 200 exhibitors from more than 20 countries will meet about 6000 interested visitors.
From 25th to 28th November the German Pharma-Technologists will welcome their visitors in the Crocus Expo Exhibition Center at booth H21. “We hope to achieve a response as positive as in the years before, and especially invite interested customers to our lecture in the scope of this event”, Dr. Jörg Brunemann, Managing Director of Syntapharm GmbH, reports. His lecture about the topic “L-HPC – a multifunctional excipient for direct compression and granulation” will take place in the Pharmtechprom Forum on 26th November at 10:45.

CPhI Worldwide in Frankfurt
HARKE Pharma presented its technologies and products for supporting pharmaceutical industry customers at the “CPhI Worldwide,” the “Convention on Pharmaceutical Ingredients and Intermediates” that took place in Frankfurt, Germany, from September 30 through October 2. The company from Muelheim looks back on a successful exhibition and is glad to have intensified its customer relations within the scope of the event.
„In close collaboration with our partners from Shin-Etsu we successfully discussed technical problems right on-site and enabled our customers a direct contact to the Japanese experts”, Daniel Burchart, Senior Sales Manager HARKE Pharma, emphasizes. Two of Shin-Etsu´s pharma-technologists were available for the interested audience at HARKE Pharma´s booth, who informed about product news as well as about the production processes in Japan with regard to the accident last year.
We were very happy that many people visited our booth although its location was not very central, and do hope to welcome you again next year in Madrid.
Fats & Emulsifiers Symposium 2008
The Association ZDS (Zentralfachschule der Deutschen Süßwarenwirtschaft e.V.) invites the expert public to the symposium „Fats & Emulsifiers“ in the sweets industry that takes place in Solingen on 24th and 25th September, 2008.
Within the scope of this event Yukihiro Naruse from Mitsubishi-Kagaku Foods Corporation will give a lecture on the topic “Sugar Esters: Multifunctional Emulsifiers”, which we would like to recommend. The presentation will take place on 24th September at 11.30 – after the lecture the audience will have the opportunity for a discussion of this topic.
